Marimba+Electronics+
The Löwenthal album is a collection of pieces created primarily for acoustic and electronic marimba as the main instrument. The pieces are inspired by traditional Costa Rican melodies, Afro-descendant heritage in the region, and contemporary aesthetics. The project therefore seeks to increase the visibility of the marimba as a representative instrument of the country and the region, through fusions of traditional and digital elements, from an aesthetic perspective that positions the marimba at a high artistic level. This would be the first solo marimba album composed and performed by a Costa Rican female percussionist.
